1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.- 2Combine all the dry ingredients--whole-wheat flour, soy flour, wheat germ, cornmeal, nonfat dry milk, and brewer's yeast--in a mixing bowl and sift them together.
- 3Place the mackerel in a separate bowl and break it into smaller pieces. Add the vegetable oil, cod liver oil and water.
- 4Mix the mackerel into the dry ingredients. Stir well.
- 5Remove the dough from the bowl. Roll it out to 1/4-thick using a rolling pin.
- 6Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into 1/4-inch pieces or bits. Spray a cookie sheet with nonstick spray and place the bits onto the sheet.
- 7Bake the food for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Stir every 6 to 8 minutes to make sure they brown evenly.
- 8Remove the sheet from the oven. Allow the cat food to cool completely on the cookie sheet. Store the food in an airtight container and refrigerate until you are ready to use.
